There are many ways to throw pottery on the wheel. Different techniques to center, open, pull and trim. You do what works for you and what is comfortable.
A day after students' pottery dries to leather hard, TFP trims the bottoms "the foot" of the pottery.. then the pottery dries for another week or so before first firing.
