My passion for throwing pottery started in the 10th grade with Bill Marinich at Jordan-Elbridge High School. He taught me and others the art of throwing pottery on the wheel. I took every ceramic class my schedule would allow and spent all study halls in the art room working on the pottery wheel.
Twenty-two years after high school, I bought my first wheel and lots of fun little pottery tools and 50 lbs. of clay and threw occasionally in my basement.
Fifteen years later in 2019, I bought a kiln, a lot more clay, threw more pottery. Picked up another wheel just for trimming, then a second kiln as a backup,
In November of 2021, I was originally renting space for 3 months as Clay & Craft selling pottery and other craft items. I also offered gift cards for pottery wheel lessons. The classes caught on and I added a 3rd and 4th wheel, bought a bunch more fun pottery tools, 500 pounds of clay, more glazes, tables and work benches. In May of 2025, I relocated to a newly built studio much closer to home.
