My passion for throwing pottery started in the 10th grade with Bill Marinich at Jordan-Elbridge High School. He taught me and others the art of throwing pottery on the wheel. I took every ceramic class my schedule would allow and spent all study halls in the art room working on the pottery wheel.
Twenty-two years after high school, I bought my first wheel and lots of fun little pottery tools and 50 lbs. of clay and threw occasionally in my basement.
Fifteen years later in 2019, I bought a kiln, a lot more clay, threw more pottery, then I got a second wheel just for trimming, then a second kiln as a backup, and then thought to myself, "I wonder if there are people out there that would like to try throwing pottery on the wheel."
I opened the studio to teach pottery lessons and bought a bunch more fun pottery tools, 500 pounds of clay, more glazes, tables and work benches and then a third and fourth wheel and a lot more fun pottery tools and gadgets.
